Re: This Sat away to Shrivy
Just got back from the Shrivenham game and it's also just stopped raining at last. First Half a couple of chances for both sides with a few corner kicks for the Reading boys which saw some good blocking by the Shrivy lads. Also some good runs down the wings, keeping the home team busy defending. Shrivenham also had a couple of chances but Chris Grace in goal dealt with them well. Sometime into the first half Dave Mills had a crack from outside the box and the effort beat the keeper low down to his left to make it 1-0.
Half Time: Got myself a bacon roll/burger and it was superb, probably the best burger and bacon I have tasted all season.
Second: Just like in the first and couple of chances for either side, the Reading boys were putting balls into the box and it causing a few problems. Not long into the second half and Reading Town doubled their lead when they were awarded a penalty, which was scored by Scotty Rees to make the score line 2-0. Shrivenham did create some chances after conceding seeing Chris Grace making a fine save preventing the ball going into the back of net. Also some very good tackling and blocking by the Reading boys. The game finished 2-0 and it was a good game considering the weather.
I would like to thank Shrivenham for their welcoming hospitality and sorry if we ate all the burgers

A very spirited display from a very young Shrivvy side. Thought that they actually played better up the slope and the wind than the Town did. The hard work by Reading paid off and the forwards also defended well when possession was lost. Good hospitality from the hosts - enjoy your race night this evening.
Well done Hoppo - you took the banter well.
