Why won't the Shrivy Army be in big numbers when you come to our place?? I am not sure how the pitch is as I havn't be down to the gound to check things out. If the bad weather continues then the season will finally finish in cricket season Embarassed

Well boys its a number off things
1) the Fixture being changed at short notice
2) both our Reserves & A Team have fairly big games
3) at least 5 or 6 that were coming are now working at the weekend to make up for lost days because of the snow.
4) because we had no fixture for the 14th a fair number have got together and hired a coach to go and watch Leicester v Swindon. so infact will there be any off us there i ask myself Laughing , im kind off hoping its called off now Laughing Laughing

We obviously can't control the elements, and hope that the weather will be kind so that we can watch local footie again. Much rather be at Scours Lane than the Walker Stadium that's for sure.

I dunno, the Walkers has a little place in Reading history being the place where Reading F.C. got promoted to the Prem. Very Happy Not that Swindon fans would be too bothered mind. Razz Wink

This Saturday could go either way tbh. According to the Met office it'll go down to -3 on Friday night, and then up to 5 during the day on Saturday, so we'll just have to hope the pitch doesn't freeze so much that it isn't thawed by 3pm on Saturday. Really hope it is on though seeing as I was originally going to Derby vs Reading but that's been put back due to Derby's involvement in the FA Cup. Bit disappointed the Hungerford game's had to been put back actually, was really looking forward to seeing the league's leaders. I'm sure Shrivy will be able to put up a good and entertaining contest though.

What a great performance from the lads today. Two goals in the opening 10 minutes which was a fantastic start. The 1st goal was scored in the 2nd minute which was neatly tucked underneath the keeper by Ricco and then shortly afterwards Parfitt scored from a tight angle to make it 2-0. Graham Lewis then got on the score sheet to make it 3-0 when he headed it past the keeper. Things just got even better for the Town when James Clark half volley struck the back of the net. The Shrivenham keeper did make some good saves later on in the 1st half which kept the score to 4-0 going into half time.

2nd half saw an early goal thanks to James Clark and things got even better when Parfitt scored from close range to make it 6-0. Parfitt got his hattrick when he shot it low into the bottom left hand corner to make it 7-0. James Clark finished off the game nicely slotting it past the keeper it make it 8-0.

Amazing result considering just a few weeks previous the fixture finished 0-0... if only the Town could be more consistent they would win this league at a canter.

I needed to highlight the fantastic work of the ground staff prior to this fixture.
With out their tireless efforts the match certainly would not have taken place and 3 points secured.
Team work on and off the pitch was the order of the day!!

Reading Town made the perfect start when Gianluca Ricco neatly tucked it underneath the Shrivenham keeper in the 2nd minute to make it 1-0. Just 3 minutes later and the Town doubled their lead when Aaron Parfitt stroked it past the keeper from an acute angle. The Reading boys were the dominant force and this saw Graham Lewis have two efforts. One of which what was well saved by Luke Alford and the other which went marginally wide of the right hand post. Reading Town’s pressure paid off when a delightful ball was put into the box by David Mills and Graham Lewis latched onto it to header it past the Shrivy No1. James Clark then found himself on the score sheet in the 23rd minute after his half volley looked to be going over but it suddenly dipped at the last minute which saw the ball strike the back of the net to make it 4-0. Shrivenham had their first really chance to score in the 30th minute when a shot was cleverly cleared off the line by Will Bratt. Soon afterwards another effort from Shrivy was cleared off the line but this it was Sam Flegg who made shore the Town kept a clean sheet. The Town kept on piling on the pressure and the saw an effort from Saurez which went just past the left hand post in the 37th minute. Just 5 minutes remaining of the 1st half and Luke Alford made another good save to keep it 4-0 going into half time.

Shrivenham got off to a slightly better start they did in the 1st half and saw them have an attempt on goal which Chris Grace smartly saved diving to his left. Not long afterwards James Clark made it five when he scored from close range. In the 48th minute Shrivenham were trying to pull a goal back but their effort whizzed passed the post. Reading Town were dangerous whenever they had the ball and this saw Danny Williamson have a crack at goal from wide on right which saw the keeper tip it over the bar. Things just got even better when Aaron Parfitt tapped it in to make 6-0. Reading Town just kept causing problems and this saw Aaron Parfitt completed his hattrick when he slotted the ball into bottom left hand corner to make it 7-0. James made sure he wasn’t going to miss out on the hattrick and calmly put it past the keeper to make it 8-0.

M.O.M Will Bratt because he made some excellent runs down the wings and on numerous occassions he put great balls into the box. He also defended very well clearing the ball off the line.
