Fair result last night with both teams creating a few good opportunities. Binfield went ahead in the Second half to go 1-0 up but the introduction of Marcus Richardson midway through pounced on a cross to head the ball home to make it 1-1. Adams the Binfield goalkeeper was sent off with 10 mins to go as he handled the ball outside the area. The Town pressed to get the win but Binfield stayed firm at back and so both team went away with a point.

Brief Reports from the Tony Kempster Forum as follows:-

Reading Town 1-1 Binfield
Hellenic Premier

Hitting the target a bit of a problem tonight. Took an hour for Binfield to open the scoring, not too long before the equaliser. Potentially key moment with 15 minutes to play when the visiting keeper was dismissed for handling outside his box. The defender who pulled on the #1 jersey looked uncomfortable, but wasn't actually forced into a save.

... joined the good 'Doctor' here for this one - fairly stress free choice for me this week since I'm only 15 mins away across town.

Attendance : official 97 - which is pretty good for Scours - the overflow Car Park (Field down the side) was in use for the first time in recent history.
A few Binfield fans and the usual vociferous presence down the end - I counted four members of the 'Barmy Army' - strangely they didn't grate throughout - maybe I'm getting immune to them!

Programme has a had a bit of a re-vamp - improving slowly - another innovation this visit - Badges for sale £4.00.

Match: Not that much else to add - a bit of background though - RTFC seem to have recruited a fair number of new faces as the season has progressed - probably from the upper reaches of the Reading Leagues. It has given them a bit of 'bite' through the middle though their key players are still Seaward on the flanks and one of the few (only?) survivors from last season's campaign - Hancock @ CB.
'Big bad' Marcus Richardson scored with his first touch after coming on as sub and visibly unsettled the 'Moles' defence every time the ball flew forward but they just managed to keep him at bay.
The Red card was a direct result of this nervousness; as the ball was played past him, the defenders were too slow to track back away from him - forcing Adams in the Binfield goal to hurtle out and knock the ball clear with his hands before another onrushing forward got there.
'Moles' may see this as a missed opportunity, as they looked far more threatening up front for most of the 2nd half - one of the much vaunted Davies's (Carl) shooting fast and low to put Binfield ahead.
