15th Aug Sat Reading Town 2-0 Melksham Town (FA Cup)
Looking forward to the game this weekend with the Reading boys in such fine form at the moment and plus it's meant to be another sunny day aswell which is good. Reading Town play Melksham Town in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round at Scours Lane this weekend and if Colin Millard's side progress into the next round then they will face Bisshop's Cleeve away from home.

Re: 15th Aug Sat Reading Town 2-0 Melksham Town (FA Cup)
1st Half: It was a fairly even start to the game with both keepers having to make some saves. Then the Reading boys probably had the best chance to go-ahead when the ball was dinked over the keeper and the ball headed goal wards but one of their defenders got back to clear it off the line. Melksham replied with an effort which saw a ball fizz over Chris Grace's crossbar. Graham Lewis had a chance to put the home team ahead when one on one with the keeper but his effort went wide of the mark. Melksham were then awarded a free-kick in a dangerous area but fortunately for Reading the ball was flashed wide.
2nd Half: Just 2 minutes in after the restart, Graham Lewis had a go at goal from wide on the left but his shot was well saved by Luke McFarlane. Melksham were then reduced to 10 men in the 48th minute after their No5 took down Graham Lewis with a goal scoring opportunity looming. Reading Town then put in 2 crosses but even though they went out for a goal kick the signs were there to show the Reading boys were looking to gain that all important lead. Gordon Ritchie then got the opening goal in the 59th minute with a flying header to make it 1-0, from a free-kick and what an excellent header it was right in the corner leaving the keeper with no chance. The Reading boys were then awarded a penalty in the 65th minute after James Clark linked up really well with Aaron Parfitt on the left hand side, which saw Parfitt pass to James Clark for him to have a shot. The Shot was only half saved by the keeper and Clark followed it up which saw him get held back, so the penalty was given. James Clark stepped up to the spot and secured the 2nd goal with the ball being put away into the right hand corner and Luke McFarlane sent the wrong way. Reading Town had some more chances but the keeper made some good saves to keep the score at 2-0. With only seconds to spare Scott Rees was shown a red card for colliding with a player after challenging for a header.
