Reading Town made the perfect start to the game in the 3rd minute when Danny Seaward smashed the ball home into the top right hand corner. Which left keeper Chris Adams with no chance at all to make the scoreline 1-0 to the visitors. However afterwards Bracknell created numerous good opportunities with them hitting the side netting, Chris Rackley making some fine saves one of which was a finger tip save at a corner kick. The Robins kept on pressing and this saw the ball being cleared off the line. After so many chances Bracknell Town finally got the goal they deserved when Robert Yorke-Goldney drilled the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1 going into the break.

Second half and Roddy Slater's men started the proceedings well and this brought about Sam Whiting hitting the crossbar and the follow up by Hancock being smashed wide. The hosts continued to cause some problems for the boys in blue with an effort trickling just past Rackley's left hand post. Then in the 52nd minute Danny Seaward scored another goal with his left foot this time drilling it low and hard past Chris Adams to give the Reading boys a 2-1 lead. Both teams continued to create chances but with a fair few either high or wide of the target but Danny Seaward found himself in the thick of the action when he lobbed the keeper but the ball just didn't have enough legs on it and it was cleared off the line. Meanwhile down the other end Bracknell had a golden opportunity to level things up when a ball was put into the box and a player had a free shot at goal but luckily for Reading Town the Bracknell player didn't make the most of it, with him lifting his effort over the bar. With only two minutes to go of the 90 the home side scored after Yorke-Goldney's effort was palmed away into the path of Dean Thomas who headed it over Chris Rackley and after a desperate attempt on the line by a defender to keep it out, the ball found a way through to leave the scoreline at 2-2 at the final whistle.
