I saw the Reading boys beat Flackwell Heath tonight on penalties. First Half Flackwell had chances in front of goal but couldn’t find the end product to go 1-0 up. The Town also had a number of chances but just couldn't get the opening goal. Second Half Reading Town put Flackwell Heath under some pressure which saw their keeper fumble the ball which nearly went in off the post into the goal but he stopped in time before it would trickled over the line (his heart must have been in his mouth.) The Reading boys did make the breakthrough when Mike Hancock blasted the ball into the top right hand corner past the keeper. Flackwell did claw their way back in with a well worked goal to make it 1-1. The Reading boys were then dealt a blow when Brooksy was sent off for abusive language and so the Town played Extra time with only 10 men. Extra time both teams had a few chances to snatch at the end but it was down to the penalties to decide the game. Penalties and the first spot kick was missed by a Reading player with the ball hitting the post and it coming back out. Chris Grace saved 2 penalties on the night and all the other penalties were scored by the Reading boys so the Town progress to the next round.
