Reading Town 4-2 Newport Pagnell Town
Reading Town take on Newport Pagnell this afternoon in the first round of the Vase. With Newport having won the last meeting between the two sides 6-2 in the B&B Trophy final I think there's little doubt that it'll be a tough challenge. Particularly as Newport look to have got off to a very good start with six wins and twenty-eight goals in their first seven United Counties League matches this season.
6-0 win for us as a prelude to getting our Berks & Bucks Trophy back this season then please.

Battling display from Reading Town this afternoon against a very useful footballing side in Newport Pagnell.
The difference was that Reading took almost all of the chances that they created.
The hosts were flattered by the 2-1 half time score as Newport had more than enough opportunities to be 3 goals ahead at that point. Chris Rackley proved himself in goal on several ocassions to thwart the dangerous forwards in this period. The 2nd half showed what a dangerous side Reading could be on the break with Brett Rann & Danny Seaward prominent in the front line.
Demetrius Lawrence particularly had an excellent game at the back while the midfield battled for everything in order to contain their lead.
MOM in my opinion was Chris Rackley but credit to all the lads for this victory - Roddy must have been well pleased.
